Hong-Phuc Bui graduated in 2008 with a Logistics Management Master Degree and is today a methods/logistics engineer with Schneider Electric in Australia. He works within the Schneider Production System, the multinational’s methods and continual improvement department
As part of the implementation of an enterprise resource planning application, my responsibilities include reorganising and setting up 4 stores with over 10,000 product references. Merchandise regularly enters and leaves these stores, or warehouses: components, raw materials, semi-finished products or finished goods… It is my job to ensure smooth logistics flow. I am also in charge of reorganising production lines according to the Kanban method and supervising a dedicated team.
Why did you choose ESC Bretagne Brest’s specialised Masters courses ? I chose the Logistics Management course as it is a very job-oriented course, in particular thanks to its cooperative programme involving practical work experience. My internship with a major automotive equipment manufacturer gave me the opportunity to learn about industry, where precision is a key quality. This was where I discovered the notion of continual improvement and lean manufacturing tools. This Master is recognised both by the French graduate school authority “Conférence des Grandes Ecoles” and logistics professionals. It also regularly makes the national ranking of top Masters courses. I particularly appreciated the experience the staff was able to share with us and learnt to apply methodological precision.
What did you gain from this course ? Following a Master in industrial procurement, my year at ESC Bretagne Brest gave me the opportunity to specialise in supply chain management. The Logistics Management Master enabled me to understand the supply chain in a global way and to learn about management. The emphasis on employability by the school proved successful: today I have a very interesting position within a major industrial group of international scope.
